Background InformationIn its own words, " is the largest Jewish women's organisation in Great Britain and Ireland. WIZO is a non-party political movement of Zionist women providing a powerful voice on human rights issues and concerns relating to the status of women.", the working name of British WIZO, was originally established in the wake of the Balfour declaration as the Federation of Women Zionists (FWZ), by Rebecca Sieff, Vera Weizmann, Edith Eder, Romana Goodman and Henrietta Irwell. Supporting a wide range of social projects in Israel, is a member of the international WIZO movement, with more than 250,000 members worldwide.
