"The Society maintains its own Archives Section in its National Training Centre. The collection is extensive and includes the minutes of the Council from 1905; Annual Reports from 1924; reports of the International Conference from 1864 to date; reports, bulletins and the Review of the International Committee of the Red Cross from 1859 to the present day; a run of the official journal from 1914; County Branch records (which include minutes, annual reports, personnel and other records) from c. 1909 to date; and departmental files covering all aspects of the Society's work from 1905. In addition to these administrative records, the Archives Sections has collections of personal papers of past officers of the Society; official records relating to humanitarian assistance activities during both World Wars; a photographic archive covering every aspect of humanitarian relief work, domestic and international, since 1870; and records concerning Prisoners of War. The Archives Reference Library contains books on all aspects of the Society and the International Red Cross. Current records (i.e. post-1979 material) are maintained at the Society's National Headquarters. Researchers should in the first instance write to the Archivist for further advice about access to the papers." (source: C.
