Background InformationThe End Child Poverty campaign was formed against the backdrop of Tony Blair's pledge to end child poverty by 2020, in order to: hold government to this pledge; evolve an agreed standard to measure child poverty; and capacity build in society and promote policies in order to facilitate the pledge's fulfilment.
